Leadership responsibility for offshore IM technology centers and the global engagement model. Lead 6 Senior Managers & Director level professionals in developing data assets solutions using agile approaches. Primary liaison to firm’s enterprise data governance office.
§  Initiated functional consolidation of data warehouse consumption efforts across business units. The effort includes

the development of an enterprise data model, cross-functional dimensional data marts, and an enterprise API strategy.

§  Developed a business led multi-year BI functional and platform roadmap by illustrating use-cases through analytic

stories, development of Sales/Marketing Navigation dashboards, creation of a data explorer tool over core reference

data marts, and introduction of macroeconomic risk exposure analytics using state-of-art visualization.

§  Revamped the Security Master Reference reporting by instituting a strategic mart, OLAP cubes, and Qlik Dashboards.

This exercise has already resulted in fewer data issues product analysis by allowing easy analysis of securities.

§  Leading an effort to improve targeted sales and distribution across firm and non- firm financial advisors, understanding

correlation of interaction with clients to actual sales, and deciphering sentiment  of a client based on sales call, web

clicks, email exchanges and subsequent interactions and actions. This effort involves merging of internal/external data

into an analytic sandbox (Hadoop) and developing models using R, Python, and visualization using Tableau and Alpine.

§  Interfacing with the Chief Data Officer, developed a data quality/governance framework, facilitating automated rules

ingestion and execution, failure notification and data profiling, real-time reporting, and historical/trend analysis. Phase 1

has lead to 75% improvement in availability of data shared with portfolio managers and institutional

§  Leading firm-wide innovation in graph database adoption leading to development of a node-relation dependent

database using open-sourced Neo4J and exposing complex and optimized relationships via REST APIs. The objective is to

develop an ontology for Long-Only positions, transactions, and ref-data, and utilize for data discovery and analytics.

Oversee application delivery and architectural components in Enterprise Data Warehouse, Big Data Engineering and Analytics, Data Integration, Visualization, SOAP Services, and Information Architecture. Member of the leadership team accountable for Employee Centers in Asia, seeding technology/functional COE and Global Vendor Management.


§ Led the EDW COE and the Information-as-a-Service framework, resulting in a data integration platform enabling a strategic Logical Data Warehouse environment, connecting Teradata DW, GreenPlum Plant, SQL Server Data Marts, and the Big Data fabric. This effort reduced development time by 25%. By managing  the plant through KPIs and automation, the L2/L3 support for data issues significantly reduced wait times on development initiatives and RFB initiatives.

§ Seeded the Big Data/Data Science Advanced Analytics program and built a shared-services framework. The framework includes foundational data platforms, visualization engine, common libraries, and analytic applications. The center has delivered key apps such as sentiment & log analysis, research readership impact, anomaly detection in FA behavior etc.

§ Developed a Global Data Quality COE under the data governance framework that made a $6M impact on global banking revenue through cost avoidance and increasing the closing rate of mortgages by 2.5% , within 3-months of deployment.

Recruited by the CIO to elevate the oversight of data and to establish a centralized content and data operations group to develop an EIM delivery operation. Oversee all aspects of data architecture, packaged applications, and data governance, encompassing data modeling, integration, data quality, data warehouse, business intelligence, database admin, packaged applications, documentum, SharePoint, and testing automation. Managed 5 IT managers and a team of 60+ resources.


§  Created strategic roadmap, receiving $3M funding. Secured buy-in from C-level and IT officers to implement data management tools, guidelines, procedures, and stewardship policies. Led the technical and business evaluations. Implemented EDW, ETL, logical data models, metadata and BI tools, creating new analytic opportunities for business.

§  Completed a multi-year data program for Internet Banking, AML, and Fraud applications, which Included acquiring and consolidating granular level transaction, accounting, customer, and product data into a repository to facilitate new features such as pending transaction analysis, debit card fraud analytics, product analysis dashboards etc.

§  Received buy-in from Bank management on enhanced data methodologies leading to partnership with Nielsen and Pitney Bowes for customer segmentation and lifestyle marketing campaigns and improved cross/up-sell, channel strategies, and integration of external data with company data stores and applications.

§  Managed utilization of off-shore development model to convert over 1200 crystal reports to application-embedded Actuate reports and interactive dashboard, revamping banks profitability analysis tools across channels. The offshore utilization model was the first at the Bank and saved $550K in development effort.

§  Improved application regression and functional testing by 25% by introducing testing automation, incremental testing methods across agile/waterfall techniques and by improving the functional knowledge across testing teams.

§  Increased utilization of SharePoint through intense performance tuning workshops, aggressive development of forms that led to key automation in loan and instrument handling processes and documentum integration.

Reporting to the CIO, provided leadership for data architecture, data warehouse, business intelligence, analytics, Oracle Financials, merchandising/store operation applications supporting 6000+ employees in 220+ locations. Led and empowered 8-direct reports and 11 resources.  Conceptualized, formed, and managed Data Governance and BI COE led by the COO and other cross-functional business executives. Instituted fact-based decision-making, a first in the company’s 60-year history.


§  Raised utilization of Microstrategy BI implementation within 16 months by creating a BI COE and leading a corporate-wide initiative to integrate business decision-making and intelligence usage. Built a management team and hired 4 senior BI architects/ETL developers; trained 300 users and 4 business unit super users.

§  Delivered 1200+ metrics across sales, warehouse/inventory, finance/accounting, merchandising, and supply chain. Developed 300+ reports and dashboards that led to a sales increase of $6MM in 1 quarter by monitoring sales associate behavior and providing district and regional managers to manage their store and warehouse operations.

§  Implemented store traffic counters at 175 stores. Close monitoring of data led to a 12% written sales increase.

§  Guided rewrite of commission tracking applications with integrated BI data, allowing identification of top performers and providing sales associates a self-service tool to track performance and sales record against incentives.

Led internal teams to transform legacy technology for an ambitious expansion and IPO strategic plan. Recommended and executed OS, RDBMS, load balancing, storage, data center and systems integration solutions from $100K to $2 mm.
